Common Core Math can be daunting and confusing. Integrated Math I, for instance, begins with verbal and pictorial problems that require the student to work backwards to uncover the relevant equations behind the problem. In the words of one of my students… “you just have to unwrap it.”
So don’t lose confidence. It’s not obvious at first. It’s a puzzle.
